The Twisted Fork came to be after 9 years of hard work in Oakville's downtown core. In March of 2002, Michael and Laura decided to take the plunge and risk everything they had, and didn't have, to fulfill their dream. A dream to own an intimate upscale eatery with creative, innovative cuisine and to provide a place where patrons would feel at home.

Wednesday, July 15, 2002, The Twisted Fork opened it's doors and the response has been tremendous! The mandate set for the restaurant is a guarantee of consistent top quality fare, a venue which is beautiful and inviting, and one of having fun and not becoming complacent in the industry.

Since its beginning, Twisted Fork has been more than just a restaurant. Theme nights, cooking classes, winemaker's events, catering and the Summer Boater's Boxed Menu program, all mean that there is always something new and exciting to look forward to in beautiful Bronte.

Michael and Laura graciously thank those friends both old and new for their support and look forward to making your dining experience one you¹ll want to bring friends back to enjoy again and again. Twisted Fork came to be out of the need to start and regain a sense of enthusiasm in this great cooking industry.

If you were to think of a town as a kitchen, and the various streets as separate sections within that kitchen…the Twisted Fork would be found in the drawer known as the “catch all ”…things you have because one day you might use them…the gadget that you just had to buy off the shopping channel….that special tool that has been passed down for generations, and when used always makes you reflect on all the special events it’s been involved with throughout your family history…very often things get placed in the drawer and then forgotten…often the drawer becomes the special place for things very dear to you so as not to misplace but to keep safe.

The Twisted Fork Restaurant was created through thoughts as these…to be unique so as to be revisited …a place to frequent with a sense of familiarity and comfort…that special place when the ordinary just won’t do…the drawer itself, the awakening hamlet of Bronte in many ways still to be discovered …a “catch all” for many wonderful things reflecting the old and the new…the drawer just that bit away from the mainstream hustle bustle of Burlington and Oakville.
